Board Minutes

A regular meeting of the Library District Board was held at 1455 S. Pinon Street in Norwood, Colorado on
April 20, 2022 at 6:30 pm and called to order at 6:37 pm.

Attendees: Laurel Henderson, Emily Haught, Kerry Bentler, Kattie Neesham, Henry Lester, Carrie
Andrew, Rhonda Oliver, Laura Anthon and Beverly Taylor.

Approval of the Agenda
A motion was made by Laurel Henderson to approve. Emily Haught seconded. Vote to accept: All Aye.

Monthly Budget Review
Carrie Andrew presented that a request for proposal will need to be placed for landscape maintenance
bids to care for grounds. The upkeep for grounds has become too great for current budgeted facilities
maintenance staffing.

Carrie Andrew presented that there is a significant need for a low-cost employee assistance program
benefit called Triad EAP for counseling services. The benefits far outweigh the yearly cost for our
employees and board members. All appear agree that this will be beneficial.

A motion was made by Emily Haight to accept the financial reporting. Seconded by Laurel Henderson.
Vote to accept: All Aye.

Director’s Report
Carrie Andrew presented increases in visitor increases, tax disbursement increases, and grant approvals
for sound mitigation.

Office Manager will be a site supervisor (mentor) for a work experience program participant through the
School to Work Alliance Program with UnBOCES. This will allow a part time employee who will receive
on the job training at no cost to the library district.

Discussion of new programming including collaboration between local nonprofits and schools presented
to board. New programming includes outreach to Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities.

Unfinished Business
Ratify board approval of commissioned sketch by RA. Motion to approve this piece made by Laurel
Henderson. Seconded by Kerry Bentler. Vote to accept: all aye.
