Eggs-traordinary - Our Duck Hatching Adventure🥚🦆

This year, we wanted to do something a little different. Instead of a traditional program, we decided to hatch one — literally.

We incubated duck eggs from the very beginning, right here at the library. Kids and adults alike stopped by to watch the eggs develop through candling, cheer on the first cracks at hatching, and fall in love with twelve fluffy ducklings as they found their feet. It was messy, magical, and one of the most memorable things we've ever done.

Four of our ducklings have already found their forever homes through adoption — we couldn't be happier for them! The remaining eight are named, loved, and will also be finding their forever homes soon.

Without further ado, meet the flock: Quackers, Donald, Captain Quack Sparrow, Quackie Chan, Eggbert, Puddle, Goose, and Waddle.
