Friends of the Library

The Friends of Lone Cone Library is a re-established community group with deep roots in Norwood - and it is back and better than ever. Friends groups exist to champion their local library through fundraising, volunteering, advocacy, and direct support. Whether you have an hour a month or a whole lot of enthusiasm, there is a place for you here.

Libraries do more than lend books - they are community anchors, learning hubs, and gathering spaces. A strong Friends group helps make sure Lone Cone Library has the resources, visibility, and community backing it needs to keep growing. Here are some of the ways Friends members get involved:

šŸ’µ Fundraising & Book Sales

Friends groups often organize used book sales, donation drives, and community fundraisers that bring in extra resources beyond the library budget - funding everything from new titles to special programs.

šŸ™‹ Volunteering

From helping at events to assisting with library projects, volunteers extend what a small library team can accomplish. Every set of hands makes a difference in a rural community like ours.

šŸ“£ Advocacy

Friends speak up for the library - at board meetings, in conversations with neighbors, and in the community. Having vocal supporters helps ensure the library remains a local priority.

šŸŽ Targeted Donations

Friends contributions can go toward specific needs - new books, program supplies, equipment, or special initiatives - making a direct and visible impact on library services.

The Friends group is back - and this is a great time to get involved. Whether you are a returning member or joining for the first time, your support helps write the next chapter for Lone Cone Library.
