Isabella James

Hi, I am Isabella and I am a local mother, designer and lover of libraries. I am honored to serve on the Lone Cone Library Board. I spent every childhood afternoon at the Wilkinson Library in Telluride, experiencing first hand the intense connection between our community and our library. This led me to pursue a career in architecture, specifically designing local libraries and K12 schools. I’ve been lucky to work on additions to the Ridgway Library and Dolores Public Schools.
I bring a strong understanding of both the physical and cultural infrastructure that libraries need to thrive. I recognize the unique challenges and opportunities that come with rural library planning, and I bring a mix of creative vision and practical experience to the table. My professional experience has allowed me to work closely with library staff, patrons, and stakeholders. The team at Lone Cone Library is the best around, I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this organization and continue the amazing work that's already been done.
I am a long time resident of San Miguel County and recently put down roots in Norwood with my husband and baby girl. We love this town and have felt privileged to be welcomed into this community. I am honored to serve the community as a member of the Lone Cone Library Board of Directors.
