Lone Cone Library Foundation

A Little About Us…

The Lone Cone Library (Norwood Public) has been serving the Norwood Community since 1979 and The Friends of the Library has been supporting the Library since 1995. The Friends of the Library became the Lone Cone Library Foundation in 2017.

The Mission of The Foundation is to support quality library service in the community through fundraising, volunteerism, and serving as advocates for the Library and its programs to the public. To preserve and enrich the community of Norwood and the surrounding area of Wright’s Mesa.

The Foundation supports the Library in a variety of ways, and we would like you to be a part of it!

Residents and visitors alike can enjoy the privileges of information access, entertainment, and education – which our library so cheerfully provides.

In this modern technological age, libraries must be able to offer new types of information, more programs, and more services than in the past.

Library Build- Phase 2: Grounds

A gravel path leading through a green meadow with blossoming trees and a forest in the background, clear blue sky above.

On May 6th, 2021, we celebrated two full years in our new facility. During Phase 1 of the new facility project, there were many ideas and partnership opportunities for the exterior of the library which had to wait until the building was completed.  In 2023, we kicked off the conceptual design phase for the development of our grounds which is approximately a 3 acre area. We have received a DOLA grant to support the design and planning of the grounds development project and have started working on a conceptual design with architects of what it could look like.

We want to hear from you!! If you have ideas, please get in contact with us and stay tuned for community feedback dates where you can see some of the proposed ideas and share yours.
