Summer Is Here — So Is Something for Everyone
June 2026 at Lone Cone Library • Norwood, Colorado
Summer has officially arrived — and Lone Cone Library is right there with it. The kids are out of school, the days are long, and this is exactly the time of year when the library becomes something more than a building. It becomes a place to land.
Whether you're looking for a good book, a fun program, a cool room, or just somewhere to be — we've got something for you this month. Read on and see what's coming up.
✊🏾 Honoring Juneteenth
Lone Cone Library will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth — a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans and a day to reflect, celebrate, and honor that history.
We will reopen on Saturday, June 20th at our regular hours.
🎉 A Big Announcement from Our Library Family
We're excited to share some wonderful news with our library community!
Many of you already know Kerry — she first joined Lone Cone Library as our Office Manager, and from the start she brought steadiness, kindness, and a willingness to jump in wherever she was needed. Her thoughtful leadership naturally led her into the role of Assistant Library Director, where she continued to support our staff, patrons, and programs with clarity and care.
Today, we're happy to announce that Kerry has officially stepped into the role of Library Director!
Kerry brings a grounded, people-first approach to everything she does. Whether she's helping a patron, backing up a staff member, or tackling the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the library running, she shows a genuine commitment to this place and the community it serves.
We're grateful for the heart and hard work she's already invested in Lone Cone Library, and we're looking forward to what we'll build together in the years ahead.
Lone Cone Library invites community members to share feedback, ideas, and hopes for how we can better support accessibility needs — with a focus on community members who are hard of hearing or deaf.
All feedback is encouraged, including people with lived experience, family members, caregivers, educators, service providers, advocates, and anyone interested in accessibility.
Need accommodations to participate? Call us at 970-327-4833 — we are happy to help.
Can't make it but want to share feedback? Email evan@loneconelibrary.org. More conversations are planned — check back for future dates!
